American Elite AllStars of Ohio this week learned that its Senior Level Five teams, the highest level of performance in competitive All-Star cheerleading, have won American Cheerleader magazine’s nationwide 2009 “Race for the Rings.”  Elite is the only Midwestern program to win this year’s honor.
American Cheerleader magazine annually conducts its American Cheerleader on Tour cross-country
scouting series, during which it selects 12 “Editors Choice” award winners based on the execution of routines performed during sanctioned All-Star competitions.  Once the 12 teams are announced, which this year took place in June, fans nationwide are encouraged to view video clips of teams’ performances and vote for the top three routines.  Elite shares winning honors with two others teams, the Kerrville Cougars of San Antonio, Texas, and the Desert Storm Elite Special Needs Team of Palm Springs, California.  The winners will now receive custom-designed rings from Jostens Inc., the company that has for decades produced Super Bowl, NBA and myriad college athletic championship rings.
“We are very proud of the athletes on Elite’s Senior Level Five teams,” said Coaches Wanda Whipkey and Laura Dudley.  “We very deeply appreciate the level of support that our families, friends and community partners consistently offer.  It means a great deal that our training and performance standards have once again been recognized nationally, especially by those who chronicle the spirit industry.”
American Elite AllStars this year celebrates five years of training in the cheer, dance, gymnastics and child fitness disciplines.  With three locations in Northeast Ohio--Tallmadge, North Ridgeville and Solon--the program endeavors to become the breakthrough standard-bearer in the burgeoning spirit industry through:  safety, certified education and training excellence, inclusion, character-building and athletic integrity.  From its annual “Children’s Cheer Classic” which raises funds Akron Children’s Hospital’s Reach Out and Read Program, to the awarding of college scholarships, Elite seeks to develop empowered athletes who become empowered leaders.  For more information on American Elite call 330-633-3160 or visit www.aeaohio.com.

American Elite had another first this season at the 2009 Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando, Florida.  This year two (2) teams qualified for the World's Competition.  Both of our teams Encore (Large Limited Coed) and Celebrity (Small Sr.) advanced to the day two finals on Sunday.  Celebrity finished 12th out of 68 teams and Encore finished 11th.  We are so proud of our athletes.  Their dedication, determination, and a don't ever give up attitude helped drive them to one of the top positions in the World.
